

Field Day is done for another year. Things went fairly smoothly, but like other years participation by SMARS members was light. Never the less, all transmitters were manned and dispite noisy bands, contacts were made. A big thank you to all who helped.
SMARS held its first Fox Hunt July 10. With more than 20 participants, it was a great success. In fact, it was such a success we're going to do it again. Plans are still pending, but keep September 25 open.
The ARRL is looking for the support of local amateurs on the PRB-1 initiative. This is an effort to preempt local zoning ordinances in regard to antenna structures. Please see the following for more info
The SMARS club meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Masonic Center at 133 East Michigan Ave. Meetings begin at 7pm and usually last less than 2 hours. If you are interested in becoming an Amateur Radio Operator please fell free to come by. We can help you pass your test to get you started in the amazing world of Ham Radio.
