SMARS REGULAR MEETING


October 18, 2007

President Lou Ryason called the meeting to rder at 7:05 P.M.
After te usual introductions.
A motion was made and second to ACCEPT the Minutes and Treasurers report as printed in the Feedback. MOTION PASSED.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:  Stephanie and Bob Halbert will chair the Hamfest.  VE Session was held at Maple Methodists Church.
OLD BUSINESS: License postponed until after the first of the year.
NEW BUSINESS: Jesse Moreno, introduced Ray Davis, of Marshall, Scout Leader for Troop #337, Jacob, First Assistant Scout Leader and Collin, Second Assistant Scout Leader, who acompanied Ray Davis to the meeting.  Ray had contacted Jesse about getting support to operate on Scout Jamboree on the Air.  All Club members gave their full support, to hold the Jamboree at Gary Keysers place on Saturday October 20, for about four hours. Several members agreed to help setup the station using one of our trailers and also help operate. Gary and Jean hosted the event at their place on behalf of the club. A PSK Computer was raffled and all money was donated to club by Russ, N8UU.
PROGRAM: The Program was hosted by Russ, N8UU on operation of PSK, he presented a live demonstration of how a PSK works.He explained that PSK covered very frequency space, he was using very low power to operate.  Someone asked about the waterfall. everyone could
hear the PSK operating. After a question and answer session the program ended. As usual Russ had some free items to give away that pertain to Amatuer Radio.
A MOTION was made and SECOND to Adjourn. MOTION PASSED.

SMARS BOARD MEETING


November 1, 2007

President Lou Ryason called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
OFFICERS PRESENT:  President, Lou Ryason, Secretary, Jesse Moreno, Treasurer, Jim Holloway and guest Editor, Marion Davidson.
OLD BUSINESS: Again the board discussed the issue of Field day, the board felt that it is important that in order to have a successful field day, that is very important that all members participate in the setup, also the manning of all stations at all times during the field day event around the clock, also the taking down of stations and returning the trailers for storage at Gary Keyser's place. Need someone with a truck or trucks to help pull trailers to site of field day and after field day.
NEW BUSINESS: It is that time of the year again, Christmas Dinner will be at the OLD KOUNTRY BUFFET, there will be exchange of gifts bring a man or a woman's present to exchange. The President talked about the license classes that will be held next year at church, he will check with the church on an avialability of night for the classes. So far our 2 METER repeater still resides on the tower of WBCK. The Board would like to extend a hand to all our older members to attend the meetings, the board felt that the older members carry a vest amount of knowledge with them, that we would
like for them to share with the rest of the club members.
